mo.co turns 1 🥳!

Time, like the XP particles of a Megacharged Draynor, flies. It feels like only yesterday that the first mo.co invites dropped. But Earth, even if invaded by Chaos Monsters, doesn’t stop orbiting around the Sun. As such, today, March 18th, is our first anniversary! 🥳
On March 18th, 2025, mo.co’s portal opened.
Invites were distributed through our website, social media, and especially through hundreds of Supercell Content Creators - whom we couldn’t be more thankful to for crossing this portal with us.
From then on, thousands of players gathered together to hunt Chaos Monsters across parallel worlds. While the first reactions were great, the game didn’t stick for most of our players. Chapter 2 didn’t fully address the core issues, and as we collected and took a deep dive into tons of feedback, one thought remained: we need to pivot!
A neo change!
In September 2025, we announced a full revamp (codename neo mo.co), with deep changes to progression and gameplay. You may already know about these, but here’s a quick recap:
Classes (fixed builds) replacing Gear Kits. Now we just call them Weapons.
Seasons (rotating events) replacing Chapters.
No power progression (there’s a plot twist on this one).
A cool social hangout (Rooftop HQ) replacing the apartment.
Changes this deep require more than a handful of weeks, which meant a long break from updating the game. We didn’t take this decision lightly, but we felt it to be the best way of honouring our most passionate hunters - by building a great game that can be played for many years, even if that means a few update-less months of waiting.
First neo hunt
November came, and a very early build was shared with a special group of content creators. ECHO Gaming, GazTommo, Kairos and Xpectation flew to Helsinki for a first test drive. Let’s face it: it takes passion and commitment to fly to Finland in November (those who know, know 🥶🌑), so our biggest kudos to them.
We then held playtests with larger groups, and two things became clearer: a) the new changes felt great and were an improvement in many ways, and b) there was still a lot of work to be done. Although we initially aimed for an early 2026 launch, our top priority is to serve the dish just right: hot 🔥and spicy 🌶️. That means a little more time in the oven, plus a few extra ingredients for extra flavor. As for a new date, as soon as there’s one we can fully commit to, you’ll be the first to know.
Speaking of extra ingredients...
...here are a few we’ve been adding to the pot:
A shiny new season pass
Level up to earn rewards - including new weapons!

A Trophy League - with extra flavor for speedrunners
Complete Rifts and beat times to earn trophies and rewards.
Earn extra trophies for every extra second you earn and climb leaderboards.

A gameplay rework: so the timing of every movement, dash and attack matters more!
This rework is built on two pillars:
Attacks are dodgeable even if you’re within a monster’s range. This means you can sidestep a monster’s swing even while fighting up close.
Red warning areas on the ground removed, shifting the spotlight to monster behavior and patterns.
This, of course, also requires readjustments to monster animations and sound effects. It’s a several month effort and will continue to evolve even after neo moco launches.

Please bear in mind: all of these new features are still very much in progress, and a few graphics and effects are just placeholders. Consider the above an early and drafty version of what’s coming.

While we’re fully focused on neo mo.co, we couldn’t let this day go by without celebrating with you - our most dedicated hunters. Thank you for taking this journey with us, playing our game, and showing so much excitement for what’s ahead.

As for us, it’s back to designing, coding, drawing, writing, producing, bug fixing, researching, testing, discussing, playtesting and everything else involved in building a game. It’s been an epic ride so far. Not always smooth, but that’s part of the fun. Especially when you do it with love.
